Sun Metro & UTEP Graphic Design Class Partnership

Target Audience: The target audience was area residents who drive by our shelters on a daily basis. Prints where strategically placed in high-traffic areas. In addition, we developed a strong partnership between Sun Metro and the UTEP graphic design professors/students.

Strategy Objective:The strategy was to create visually appealing ad designs with short phrases that drivers could see within the few seconds of driving past our shelters. Therefore, we partnered with the University of Texas at El Paso's graphic design class and discussed several ideas on how to design an effective campaign. The designs were printed and placed in high-traffic areas to capture as many drivers as possible.

Situation Challenge: The challenge was finding a way to capture the attention of non-riders and potentially get them to try our services with little to no budget.

Results Impact: These colorful designs have made a great impact on the public and make them aware of how beneficial it is to utilize public transportation and also helps them become familiar with the services we provide.

Why Submit: It's important for public transportation systems, in general, to create strong partnerships within the community. Sun Metro and UTEP collaborative efforts not only educated students on the services we have to offer, it also gave a refresh to our shelters to capture the attention of drivers through fun and factual designs.
