Metro Proterra Battery Electric Bus Wrap

Target Audience: The target audience for this entry was the Quad Cities general public.

Strategy Objective:The bus wrap needed to be different from a standard Metro branded bus, but needed to feel like it was still part of the brand family. We wanted to convey that the bus was different by incorporating technology elements into the design, as well as highlighting "zero emissions".

Situation Challenge: Metro was in the process of introducing battery electric buses to the community. Metro wanted to make a dynamic impact with the community rollout, and chose to create a unique brand for the electric bus fleet. The bus itself is the brand, and the challenge was to create a visually eye-catching "moving billboard" that stood out from the rest of the fleet.

Results Impact: The bus is visually appealing and incorporated technology components with a futuristic feel. The design jumps out and you can't miss it driving down the street. The messaging is bold and clearly communicates it is fully electric with zero emissions. Positive comments on the bus including "it's a beautiful bus!" have been received.
